Engagés au Vietnam

Who

Within the ~7000 French people living in Vietnam, our community elects 3 representative. They are called les Conseillers des Français de l’étranger (~ Councillor of French citizens living abroad). And in May 2026, my list Engagés au Vietnam, led by Jaime Peypoch, won this election.

To clarify, one candidate has to gather around him a list of 6 people in order to run for this election, and I was part of this list. So, I’m not seating at the French Consulate but I’m part of Jaime’s team.

What

Our role is to help our French community in Vietnam with their daily life. We are usually the front row when someone needs help, and we then ensure the right person at the Consulate or the Embassy or even back in Paris, can support that person.

Our focus is usually administrative and social. But as residents living and based all across Vietnam, we are also answering random questions about daily life struggles when you live in Vietnam.

Where

The scope of our role is for the French citizens officially residents in Vietnam ; it doesn’t include the tourists or other nationalities. Although, in some cases, if there is an accident or if we can help, we genuinely do our best.

When

We created our list in November and got elected on the 31st of May 2026. So Jaime Peypoch’s mandate is meant to last for the next 6 years, until May 2032.

Why

Helping others with knowledge and up to my ability on the ground has always been natural to me. I love it because it creates genuine connections with people and you can trace back me helping others are a core value and part of my missions for my entire career.
